Casey McKim

Bio

Casey McKim enters his second season as Head Football Coach at Lowell High School with a proven track record of building championship-caliber programs and developing student-athletes both on and off the field.

In his first season at Lowell, McKim led the Red Devils to a significant turnaround, guiding the team to nine wins, the program’s highest total in four seasons. His team produced the highest scoring offense in 17 years (32.8 points per game) while allowing just 17.1 points per game, the lowest in four years. The season also saw three Region 1 All-Star selections and one Senior All-State player, as well as earning McKim 4A Region 1 Coach of the Year honors.

Over six seasons as a head coach, McKim has compiled an outstanding 57-20 career record. Prior to Lowell, he served as Head Coach at New Prairie High School from 2020-2024, where he transformed the program into a perennial contender. Under his leadership, New Prairie captured four consecutive sectional championships (2021-2024), two regional titles (2021, 2022), and a Semi-State championship in 2022, culminating in a State Runner-Up finish. He also oversaw remarkable program growth, increasing participation from 55 to 105 players in grades 9-12, reflecting the strong culture and enthusiasm built within the program.

McKim’s success has been widely recognized. He was named the 2021 IFCA Chris Geesman Coach of the Year (Big School) and the 2022 IFCA Jim Andrews Coach of the Year (Overall) for Region 2. Additionally, he has been selected twice as an IFCA North All-Star Coach (2020, 2023).

Before becoming a head coach, McKim served as the Offensive Coordinator at Valparaiso High School, helping lead the program to a 6A Semi-State appearance and a 5A State Runner-Up finish. His coaching career began as the Defensive Coordinator at Michigan City Middle School, followed by a varsity assistant coaching position at Blackford County High School, before returning to his alma mater at Valparaiso.

A graduate of Purdue University, McKim earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies Education and later completed a Master of Science in Administration from Purdue University Calumet. While at Purdue, he served as a manager for the football program under Head Coach Joe Tiller and Defensive Coordinator Brock Spack, gaining early exposure to high-level program organization and leadership.

Coach McKim is committed to building a culture centered on accountability, discipline, and daily improvement. His programs emphasize the development of confident, resilient young men who are prepared for success both on the field and in life.
